What is Ego in Blade Idle?
Ego is another set of modifiers that will bolster your character’s power in May 2022. It involves a series of challenges that are powerful bosses you must defeat, similar to the Skin Upgrade Challenges.
From it, you can receive Ego bonus modifiers that include:
ATK% modifier
HP% modifier
DEF% modifier
PEN
These modifiers work just like other modifiers, such as Option ATK% and Accessory ATK%. View this post explaining stats to see how all these modifiers are calculated together.
Upgrading Your Ego
Once you have defeated the boss and have unlocked your current Ego, you can upgrade it, opening a series of modifiers. Unfortunately, upgrading Ego costs many expensive materials, so you will spend a lot of diamonds summoning to achieve the materials you need.
Example
Grade 4 Ego takes 1000 exp to upgrade. The amount of experience you get from each piece of equipment is:
Grade-3: 5 exp
Grade-2: – 20 exp
Grade-1: – 60 exp
Therefore, it will cost 16 Grade-1 and 2 Grade-2 items to fully upgrade Ego 4.
This could potentially take millions of diamonds to summon if you are unlucky!
On top of upgrading your Ego, you unlock equip-effect options when you reach the max level on your Ego. These option bonuses are enormous. Option ATK% is 90% at God-grade, which is massive, so you certainly want to get these unlocked at some point.
Unlocking the Next Challenge
To unlock the next boss challenge, you must fully upgrade your current Ego to max level.
