Introduction
Welcome to a complete description of King God Castle Altars, where they are effective, and when they should be used.
Best Altars in King God Castle
Though some altars are used more than others, like Hero Altar, there are no ‘best altars’ in King God Castle because the altars you use will depend on your setup. To better understand which altars to pick, read the description of all the altars below and which scenarios would benefit certain altars.
Hero Altar
Row 1 – Chance to summon a tier+ hero when summoning a new hero on the battlefield.
When you usually summon a hero, it will summon at tier 1, but with this perk, you have a 15% chance (at max points) to summon a tier-2 hero.
At the same time, if you pick a Scroll during the battle, this effect multiplies with the scroll’s effect, meaning the scroll makes it, so you summon a tier-2 hero. This altar can also trigger and give a 15% chance to summon a tier-3 hero.
Row 2 – A similar effect to row 1, but this time it applies only to heroes of any tier. If you combine two heroes of tier-1, you will get a tier-2 hero, but if this effect triggers, you will combine to become a tier-3 hero. Double Up! It can be useful at higher tiers when you combine 2 tier-5s and get a tier-7.
Row 3 – Gain a book of power level 4, also called a blue book. This book can help upgrade the tier of any hero of tier-4 and below. It is best used for heroes at tier-4 in your formation to get almost a “free” upgrade to tier-5. Use the book on a tier-4 unit for the most efficiency.
Where can Hero Altar work?
Hero altar is a staple for most builds as the 15% RNG chance can turn the tides of a build you are working towards in PvE and PVP. Getting a lucky double-up can be very helpful in all cases. Use this altar for most of your runs and builds as a new player. You will not be disappointed.

Blacksmith Altar
Row 1 – Chance to upgrade an item when forging. This means when playing through rounds 4, 9, 14 and 19, you will get a popup that lets you forge an item. As a basic rule of thumb, the items are of tier-1 grade, including books, items, scrolls, money, etc. This altar at max points gives a 30% that the item gets upgraded to a higher tier. So a tier-1 sword might roll into a tier-2 sword. This can be very helpful in builds where items are essential to a hero’s performance.
Row 2 – You can roll for a tier-3 item guarantee when the game starts. Blacksmith is huge for solo builds as it helps you get a solid start to the round.
Row 3 – When forging an item on rounds 4,9,14 and 19, you get to choose one of three items as a default. This perk makes it so you can reroll three items 2 times. This is great for trying your luck to get the item you want. It can help complete an item, level up a hero, etc. Once again, it works great with many solo builds as you want to get that perfect build and items for that one hero on the field.
Where can Blacksmith Altar work?
Typically, Blacksmith Altar works brilliantly with solo builds that use Mask relic or focus builds that target a specific hero. Examples like Chung Ah solo builds, Hansi builds, etc.
Blood Altar
Row 1 – This perk gives 30% lifesteal to all attack damage and spell-based damage to your hero. Let’s say Aramis hits the target for 100 points of damage. He will heal for 30 points.
Row 2 – This perk gives all your heroes HP based on their number of Attack. At max rank, it’s 100% of attack. So, for example, if a unit has 500 Attack, it will be granted 500 additional HP.
Row 3 – All heroes on the field get +2 stacks of might blocks at the beginning of each battle/round. Mighty Block ignores hits from enemies. +2 Might Block means that the shield blocks the hero’s first two hits, irrespective of how much damage they deal. Certain boss abilities ignore this shield, but it works well the majority of the time
Where can Blood Altar work?
Blood altar is excellent for builds where lifesteal is essential. Although it can be ineffective for builds that include healers or heroes that can self-heal, this is where it can be effective. A good example is any Hansi build. As she cannot self-heal, her attacks are extremely fast, and she pumps out a lot of attacks. The 30% lifesteal can help her stay alive and, in many cases, out heal the enemy’s damage altogether. Some builds also rely on the Might Blocks to come in clutch at times.
Giant Altar
Row 1 – This perk gives all your heroes on the field a damage reflection buff. At max points, the buff is 22.5%, which means 22.5% of the damage dealt to your heroes will be reflected to the attacker. This can work well in sync with tanks with inbuilt reflects, such as Leonhardt or items they hold with reflect. It is used in PvP for many builds and to counter attack-based builds.
Row 2 – This perk grants all heroes a % increase in their attack based on the amount of max HP they have during the battle. At max points, +3% of HP is gained as Attack, which is a nice damage buff for your team.
Row 3 – This gives heroes a flat damage reduction %. At max rank, it is +20% damage reduction. All damage received is reduced by 20%. This can be effective in builds where the damage received is high.
Where can Giant Altar work?
Many PvP builds run 15 giant altars to reduce and reflect the high damage. It can also be used in your PvE teams also to help with survivability. Although fewer builds use this in PvE, it can still be effective.
Mage Altar
Row 1 – The perk makes it so that all your heroes on the field start the battle with +75% initial mana. Usually, most heroes might start the battle with no mana. However, this perk allows heroes to cast their skills sooner. It works great with spell-damage-based heroes.
Row 2 – When any hero on the field takes damage, they recover a small portion of MP as a counter mechanic. This perk makes it so that recovery is boosted by 150% at max points.
Row 3 – Any time your units get a killing blow on an enemy target, they recover 99% MP back. This only affects the hero who got the last hit on the enemy before it died. The 99% recovery at max rank makes it so that in some builds, the heroes can spam skills back to back, which can be very strong.
Where can Mage Altar work?
Mage altar works incredibly well with heroes that rely on MP-based attacks. Yeon, Priya, Asaiq, and many more are effective with this. It can be used in builds where you want to force trigger spells, such as Bombie builds, at the start of the round. It is also used for many PvP builds like Trio and Bombie Gang.
Greed Altar
Row 1 – At the beginning of a round, you are granted 7 silver. This perk makes it so that you gain an additional +15 silver at the start of the battle at max points. The base starting silver depends on the type of content you are doing, but the bonus is the same that applies to all areas.
Row 2 – Every 5 rounds in a PvE chapter fight, there is an Elite round where you have elite enemies. At this stage, with this perk, you gain an additional +15 silver at max points that can help grow your team.
Row 3 – During a PvE or PvP round, the wandering merchant appears to sell you items. With max points in this altar, it makes it so that you get a 40% discount on all items. It is a nice additional benefit, especially for PvP.
Where can Greed Altar work?
You want to use this with altars such as Hero to get max silver and a good number of units on the field. This is especially useful in many PvE and PvP builds like the Aramis gang.
