Mana – What is Mana in Rush Royale?

Introduction

Mana is an energy resource used to either spawn units or level units.

It is important to understand how your mana should be used during different stages of the game so that you are always increasing your damage in the most efficient way possible.

Furthermore, it is very important to understand how bosses work so that you do not lose mana to their abilities.

Spawning

When you first start a game in either PvP or Co-Op mode, you start with 100 mana and it costs 10 mana to spawn a unit.

The cost to spawn a unit increases by 10 every time you spawn a unit until the very end of the game.

There is no way to reset the spawn cost throughout any game mode.

Leveling

Mana is also used to level up your units.

Each unit starts at level 1 – they can be upgraded to the maximum level of 5, increasing their damage and/or utility.

Each level requires a different amount of gold to upgrade to the next level.

All units are leveled up individually.

Level 2 = 100 mana Level 3 = 200 mana Level 4 = 400 mana Level 5 = 700 mana

Leveling units will upgrade their stats linearly, so the jump between levels 1-2 is the same as levels 4-5.

Because of this, you should not expect a dramatic performance difference when you achieve your last upgrade.

I’d always think twice about spending that last 700 mana on leveling up your unit, as it could be saved for spawning more units and making your board stronger!

Using the above knowledge, you can spawn 4 units instantly and you’ll be left with 0 mana.

Spawn 1 = 10 mana Spawn 2 = 20 mana Spawn 3 = 30 mana Spawn 4 = 40 mana etc.

There are units with special abilities such as Priestess that will grant you extra mana throughout the game.

Priestess herself does not need to be leveled up as the level-up will only provide a small damage boost and Priestess is not a damage unit.

This is very useful if you play a deck that requires you to level up most of your units, as opposed to decks that only require you to level 1 or 2 units.

Importance of Mana Conservation

For most decks in Rush Royale, you are able to spawn units without having to risk the amount of damage that you deal.

However, some decks that contain units such as Inquisitor or Blade Dancer can deal less damage as you spawn units because they need a specific setup to deal damage. Because of this, you never want to be in a situation where you can only spawn a single unit that may deplete your damage entirely.

It is therefore important to conserve your mana and only need it when you are about to make significant changes to your board so that you have mana available to spawn more units if you get unlucky with summons.
