What Are Relics?

Relics are items that grant your character bonus stats, unique effects or give you an active item to use while you battle.

You can have only 1 active relic and up to 30 passive relics.

Examples of Each Relic Type:

  • Orbiting: Templar Shield – Blocks enemy projectiles.
  • Following: Skull Bat – Shoots projectiles at enemies
  • Active: Aaron’s Staff – Heal for 25% of max health
  • Passive Event/Proc: Devil Horn – 100% damage increase while below 10% health
  • Passive Stat: Bonsai Tree – 3% increase to all stats

Different Ways to Obtain Relics

Any chest has a chance of dropping a relic. The chance of obtaining a relic from a chest increases with the rarity of the chest.

The order of this is as follows:

  1. Normal
  2. Golden
  3. Crystal
  4. Purple

Ruby Chests can be purchased for 900 rubies, and can contain 2 relics!

You can also obtain relics via:

  • Blacksmith (25 copper ore)
  • Defeating bosses and minibosses
  • Around the world map
  • Completing quests

How to Farm Relics Quickly in Hero Siege

The best way to farm relics is to find dungeons within a level and race to the end as quickly as possible where you can collect a guaranteed relic. There are 3 stages that are best to spawn these dungeons and collect relics from which are Pumpkin Cellar, Sand Cave, and Distorted Horizon (recommended).

Stages are randomly generated each time you enter them, so it is not always guaranteed a stage will spawn a dungeon, but the chances are high.

Your mini-map will display a cross on the map when you have discovered a nearby dungeon.

Each dungeon contains at least 2 levels. The 2nd level will typically have a relic that you can collect. You can get to the 2nd level by accessing a door or portal somewhere on the first level.

To farm the relics as quickly as possible, lower the difficulty so you can simply blaze through the dungeon, then raise the difficulty again when you have enough relics and are ready to take on some bosses.

If you have some keys available, it is worthwhile looking for chests around the map while looking for a dungeon entrance.

Chests have a chance of dropping relics and other rare items useful for game progression.

If you find the skeleton key relic, it will instantly give you 99 keys which should enable you to unlock as many chests as you like until you die as you will still pick up extra keys throughout your run.

Dungeon Locations

Pumpkin Cellar (Act 1-3)

The Pumpkin Cellar dungeon is found in Act I: Forests of Tarethiel, Pumpkin Patch.

The relic is located on the 2nd level soon after you enter the room.

Sand Cave (Act 3-2)

The Sand Cave dungeon is found in Act III: Deserts of Mos’Arathim, Dry Hills.

I find that there are a number of chests to find throughout this map if you have spare keys.

Similar to the Pumpkin Cellar, the relic can be found on the 2nd level, but you have to crawl through the dungeon a little bit to find it.

Distorted Horizon (Act 7-2)

The Distorted Horizon dungeon is found in Act VII: Te Rift, Event Horizon.

This is the best place to farm relics, as there are multiple relics within the same dungeon. However, the spawn rate of the dungeon itself is lower than the previous 2 options.

In this dungeon, there is a relic located on the first floor on the opposite side of the map to where you spawn.

Then go towards the portal at the bottom of the map.

In the 2nd level, a few relics ‘may’ spawn on platforms located around the map.

You will find the relics across a gap that you must jump, or you must collect a relic that enables flight to grab them with ease (6 possible relics enable flight). Beware if you’re playing on higher difficulties, some of the enemies in here can hurt!
