Introduction

Welcome to everybody reading this guide.

This is my Complete Beginner’s Guide to Rush Royale.

I have played Rush since the first month of its launch, I’ve peaked at 6865 trophies as a complete F2P, so I’ve never spent a single dollar on this game.

This means that I’ve really had to double down on my game knowledge and play better than my opponents to climb up the trophy ladder.

I also played Random Dice for a few months before playing Rush, so I have plenty of experience with this game style.

I will collate everything I have learned over the last year into a simple-to-follow guide.

There will be plenty to learn here, but if you take this process slowly, and try each step in-game as you go through it, you will completely digest everything I have to offer.

Collect Knowledge Base Rewards

The first thing you should do to get you started is to collect all the rewards you can from the game knowledge base. You will notice that any menus you can interact with and receive something from will have a yellow or green icon hovering over a button.

As you go through the knowledge base, I highly advise reading up on any units you have unlocked and all of the bosses.

Learn From Your Mistakes

After you get past the initial tutorial section of the game, my strongest advice for you is to simply play the game.

Get a feel for how each unit works and how much damage they deal (if any), how merging works, how to work with the limited amount of space on your board.

Learn the timings of unit spawns and the intervals at which your units attack and release abilities.

If you lose a game, don’t quit and try a different deck immediately because it takes time to get used to the deck you play and become comfortable.

Complete All Your Quests

Always complete all your quests so you can obtain season rewards. This is very important for obtaining units and growing your profile early, so if you do anything every day you log on Rush, complete these quests!

It will be your most efficient time spent playing this game.

Level Up Your Units

If you have just started your account, you should spend time earning gold through Co-Op mode and level up your units.

Leveling up units increases their damage and also your critical strike damage.

This is the greatest strength you will gain from your account across the board.

I would, however, avoid leveling up units that cost more than 10,000 gold. It’s better to save your money and level up a different unit for less gold to increase your critical strike damage.

Like I have mentioned in many other places across this website, always save 40,000 gold to purchase a legendary unit from the shop when it pops up – you will regret not buying it otherwise!

Learn All Boss Mechanics

Learning all the boss mechanics and knowing how they will affect your deck will ensure that you maintain the strongest board possible after you have finished fighting the boss.

Example

You do not want to spawn many units before Tribunal because Tribunal will decrease the rank of half of your active units by 1.

This is rounded up if you have an odd number of units on the board, so you always want to have an even number of units down before Tribunal arrives.

Watch All Ads

Like every game out there at the moment, there is usually great short-term benefit from watching ads and this game is no different.

Watching ads is a great way to earn gold, some crystals, and token doublers to help you obtain season rewards.

After watching 10 ads, you can open the mega ad chest to receive a handful of gold and some cards to help you on your journey.

Think About the Role of Each Unit in Your Deck

There are tonnes of units in Rush Royale, each with a unique action.

To increase your chances of winning games, you need to know exactly what benefits each unit provides in this game.

Here are some questions to ask yourself when selecting units:

  • Is it good at clearing waves? Corsair, Ivy, Hex
  • Is it good at killing bosses? Crystalmancer, Inquisitor, Sentry
  • How much do I benefit from the mana this unit gives me with my deck? Decks that require you to level up more units in-game benefit more from mana-generating units. Also, you do not need 2 units that generate mana in your deck.
  • Does this unit deal a good amount of damage later in the game? Execution Units & Inquisitor are very useful later in the game, Wind Archer deals very little damage late-game but could benefit from Hex (support execution unit) for late-game damage
  • How much benefit does this support unit (non-damage-dealer) provide the units I currently have selected? Reaper has a chance to execute units when it attacks. Grindstone will not help Reaper much because Reaper does not need extra critical chance to perform its role. However, Banner will greatly help Reaper, increasing its attack speed, therefore increasing the opportunity for Reaper to execute enemies.

Create a Balanced Deck

Following the previous paragraph, your goal for every deck is to survive the early game and last as long as you can into the late game.

You cannot simply fill your board with units that will be fantastic in the late game because you will die in the early game, especially if your opponent is running units like Shaman or Clock of Power that make your board weaker.

You need to find a sweet balance between support and damage to achieve a nice balanced deck.

Learn the Strengths and Weaknesses of Every Unit

The most important point here is simply playing the game at your own pace!

You can only be a master once you learn how every unit works, which takes a lot of time. Don’t spend too much time trying to figure out what the best deck is all the time; have fun testing out new builds and see what units work well together.

If you’re wondering what happens if you have a full deck of nothing but Corsair, try it and have fun with it!

It will never end if you ask people what deck you should play. You will try a deck that someone has recommended continuously while playing the game when it is much better to understand what each unit does so you can develop a strong deck yourself! – It does help to have most of your units unlocked, too.

You can learn all the nuances of how different equipment affects decks differently when you have strong units and some decent equipment to start with!

There’s a lot of fun to be had while experimenting – The time to do it is when you’re not so worried about where you are on the leaderboard.
